[PCR-1000] Win XP and Icom Software

Has anyone out there been able to use the Icom software, with the 
PCR-1000, with a UT-106 installed under Win XP?  I have posted on 
several newsgroups only to find one other person who is having the same 
problem.  I can get Scancat Gold to work, but not the original Icom 
software.  Without the UT-106 installed, the software works fine, but 
with the filter in, it bombs out when it is trying to bring up the 
filter knobs display segment.....and it looks like it's bombing on a 
display DLL within the OS.  I have tried 95 and 98 compatibility modes, 
to no avail.
