I have a summer place on the east side of L. Huron: the part that
the Canadians call "Georgian Bay", which is the eastern half or
so of the lake. Summer weather there includes frequent T-storms
and the occasional tornado. I'll be taking my PCR-1000 and Yaesu
FRG-100, but the antennas will all be indoors, and I'll run the
rigs off battery to isolate them from power disturbances. It's
also not uncommon to be power-down for as much as two weeks,
which is not totally unreasonable since we're 15 miles from town
by boat, and lightning strikes appear to target the exposed parts
of the hydro lines.

I'll be within a 1-mile circle centered on 45N 80W, and I'll be
thinking of you. But I won't be seeing mail or news for a month!
