All -
I attended an orientation meeting this afternoon. Here's what I learned:
Event Staff T shirts will be available at the Event but must be turned
in after the event is over. The shirt will be used in future events
planned for the area.
The event will run from 9A to 12N. Game take down will begin shortly
after a brief talk that will begin at noon.
I have volunteered us to be involved in assisting with parking in
addition to our patrolling. Family Block Party participants will have a
wristband. If you should find a lost child, you should return with the
lost child to our booth which will be across from the registration
booth. That will be our base location.
FBCWH Event Staff will be leaving FBCWH at 7AM next Sunday morning. We
can either go with that caravan or go on our own but we should plan on
being there as close to 8A as we can.
Right now the weather forecast looks good. Cold will likely be the
biggest problem. Please dress accordingly but the green event staff
shirt should visible over whatever you wear to keep warm.
Event staff will be provided food (provided by Joe Spadoni) but most
likely not until after the event is officially closed down.
There will be signs on 65 indicating where we need to go but as I
appreciate it, the road we are looking for is near the Sonic (which is
across from the hospital).
I plan on bringing a generator along with a power supply and a dual band
transceiver and a magmount antenna. I would encourage a backup setup
(just in case). We can finalize our frequencies over the next few days
but I'm thinking 146.52 for patrolling and possibly a UHF simplex
frequency for the parking lot activities.
Thanks for volunteering to help on this project... I appreciate it and I
know that Dean and FBCWH do as well.
73,
glenn
