All -

Some information for those that might be interested in APRS but don't 
have the RF equipment to dedicate to it right now:

A sight that I've used a lot is:

http://aprs.fi/

in the Track call sign box you can enter N5RN-5

and you can see the information about the node that was put in service 
yesterday.  Many of the items on the page are also links so you can 
explore the APRS network.

As for software, I've used a couple - APRSpoint and UIView (free).  Each 
program has it's own pluses.  I can't recommend one over the other 
overall.  If you are an iphone user openAPRS is one that I've used until 
I got the mobile setup going.  UIView can be setup so that it uses your 
internet connection so you can be part of the APRS network too.
