Subject: Attempted Kidnap suspect in Saline County
Everyone should read and immediately teach children this "secret" family
password.
Thanks James for the heads up on this.
My child and his companion were similarly approached in Conway some 20 years
past. Fortunately, My wife and I had discussed the proper response
repeatedly. My son and his friend took the appropriate action to avoid
becoming victims.
The purpetrator WAS NOT apprehended! All parents of young children should
give instructions! Also, the use of a secret "password" should be taught.
IE: if ANY adult should seek to remove the child from any place the child
should be secure then the child should ask for the "secret" family password.
If not given IMMEDIATELY, then the child should RUN, seek out a trusted
adult, call 911, or tell their teacher (at school if there), or any other
adult nearby of the threat! This must be understood that they are without
blame or punishment if they choose this option. (All can be worked out
later among adults.) If we don't give the kids the "Carte Blanche" option,
they may fall prey to the "obey your elders" teachings. Trust Me...Your
kids, Your Grand-Kids, Neices, and Nephews....'Tis much better to work out a
misunderstanding than to make an I.D. at the morgue!

> Supposedly, the man has been seen as far south as Pine Bluff, but Fox 16
