IMHO--the elimination of the Morse Code requirement is the real beginning of
the end for Amateur Radio. I am sure that this change is just another
chapter in the PC-fueled "Dumming Down of Amerika" (misspelling is
intentional). After all, we can't make EARNING a license so difficult that
prospective hams actually have to WORK for it. Their self-esteem (formerly
earned by REAL EFFORT AND COMMITMENT) might be damaged if they have to STUDY
and PRACTICE just to pass a licensing exam.

God help Amateur Radio. It used to be such a wonderful hobby. Send in the
clowns (don't bother---they're here).
