Greetings !

While some welcome and others mourn the announcement on Dec. 15 re 
elimination of Morse Code  from AR exams..

Those that have the "Real" , Advanced or Extra class licenses, should think 
of it as a recognition of  the prestige for taking and passing the code 
tests of 13 and 20 wpm, back in yesteryear.

Kind of makes one think of that title of an old radio show on a Saturday 
morning, "Lets Pretend".

We are not bitter, it is a mark of progress, after all we seldom see fabric 
covered aeroplanes anymore when we motor out to the aerodrome. They might 
even be making cars without running boards, it is rumored.(Don't buy stock 
in "Genuine Clutch Rebuild" companies).

But, please, to all of the expected new generals and extras, do not use Q 
sigs and other cw intended abbreviations on
SSB or FM/AM, they are a privilege reserved for the few.

REMINDER: Keep your aerials rigged and keys polished, straight key night on 
New Years Eve.
