So the answer was different radios

I always use N3FJP and didn't look into this band problem until it was panic time on Sunday

National Fire Prevention Week
I got on 20 meters today and worked 153 stations in my allocated single hour
So CW is totally alive, just not in the USA
I presume Europe still makes it mandatory CW licensing
