Tom and the reflector,
As an operator from the county line station this year here is why not being
a rover was our decision.
We arrived on friday afternoon and spent the day "setting up". We hung a
160 dipole, erected a military crank up to support a 3 element 10,15,20
beam. We also set up a 20m and a 40m dipole. Not to mention setting up
our "shack" and wind and cold weather proofing it. (Forecast if you recall
was for cold temps fri and sat) So that being said I would like to think
that we took extream measure to maximize our tx and rx capabilities running
only 100w due to generator power.

I hope this helps you understand the need for and why people set up as
county line station. We did it with the sole mission of knowing that both
ful and franklin counties are on the "rare" list, and wanted to "be the
dx". The W3EC team is comprised of seasoned contestors and wanted to up
our game by pushing ourselves to increase our qso rate scores and tatics to
accomplish this. Unfortunately not all the bands provided us with plesant
conditions. But this allowed us to focus on the PA money bands 40 and 80.
So I hope there were very few PA stations that missed Ful/Franklin
counties.

Againg to all you rovers out there keep up the great work and please
continue to be a rover!!!
Dave N3XUD
W3EC County Line Station Operator

My hats off to all the rovers out there, but from what I recall, the rover
stations that I worked were workable, but were on the weaker side. So
again thank you to all you rovers out there.
