[PaQSO] Query regarding county line stations

What I think you're overlooking Tom is that in many, probably most cases, in
the past, the county-line station represented the only station from one or
both counties. In recent years, that has been less of a situation due to
the greater abundance of mobiles and rovers.
Again, change the rules significantly, or ban county-line stations outright,
you run the risk of someone pulling the same "stunt" that KC3CL did many
years ago. It won't be a case of someone operating for so many hours in
County 1, then moving (even a little bit) into County 2... but someone
handing out QSO 1 in County 1, QSO 2 in County 2, QSO 3 in County 1 to
another station...
I do not understand at all why this -- county line operation -- is an issue.
As I recall, the original concern was over logging -- at the end of the
station working the county line operation.
Am I to understand that we have people who want to change the rules, and
remove a type of operation that has been going on in this contest for
DECADES, because some people can't figure out how to work their logging
software?
Surely I can't be the only person on this reflector who thinks that is, no
offense intended, ridiculous.

Please correct me if I have the rules incorrect.
A county line station gets to count a QSO with another station as a single
QSO, but he hands out multiple counties. That's great for the other station
but what does the county line station gain by doing this? Wouldn't he be
much better off setting up as a rover in one county and then moving to the
next where he could work the same stations over again AND get QSO point
value for them?
