[PaQSO] Query regarding county line stations

When I set up for NYQP I noticed the rules specifically prohibited county line stations. With that I realized all of the attendant questions about them were moot.

Though I have never set one up I do dream about doing so one day. I also find them fun and a challenge to run into on the air. With the international harmonization of 40m I miss the split frequency operation in contests since it was a challenge even though it killed my QSO rate.

So I vote for keeping them. Something to make PQP unique.

Here's an item I'd like some feedback on.

County line stations.

Every year, we have people who have a terrible time figuring out how to work county line stations, and I'm not sure that even the explanations really do that much to alleviate the confusion.

Typical problems include:

Mobiles who want to operate both mobile and county line.
The difference between 1 or 2 QSO county line operations.
Troubles with the logging software. Note that the logging softwares do log them okay, it's that the Ops have a hard time figuring out how to do so.

In addition:

The county line station has to be in it for the fun of searching out and setting up on a county line. There is no scoring advantage for them.

I am considering ending county line stations. I'd like some feedback pse. reply via the reflector if you all would.
