[PaQSO] Great Party

I'll second the "Great Party" comment!
I noticed that there were very few stations, at least late in the
evening on Saturday, and most of the day Sunday, who were calling CQ.
Since I was running <5 Watts, I didn't have enough of a signal to
attract many PA stations by calling CQ (Eggzactly zero, in the one and
only time I tried called CQ for several minutes in a row, nearby
K8JQ/WVA who was doing quite well with a "run" of PA stations.
Occasionally a "new" CQer would pop up, and he'd be deluged with a
pileup for several minutes before my mighty pipsquoke signal could be
heard amongst the cacophony of calls.
With receipts of >1100 Q's for s/n from Multi-multi stations, it doesn't
seem to me that there are few stations on from PA, but there was a
dearth of stations calling CQ.
Caveat - most of my operation, due to QRP, was CW, (80 CW QSO's, 41
Phone) but when I was trying for SSB contacts I found "approximately"
the same phenomenon on Phone as with CW. It did seem that more SSB
stations were calling CQ than on CW. But, I could find them all (at
least all who could copy me) in a half hour or so, then I'd listen
around, find many others who answered one of the CQers, but couldn't be
found up or down the band calling CQ themselves. I didn't keep track,
but it seems that some of these were in fairly rare counties.
All in all, though, the PAQP was a GRRRRR8 event! Congrats to the
Nittany ARC for a grande show!
