If I am concerned about something being received (contest log, IRS 1040, etc.) I send it by CERTIFIED US Mail.
The sending receipt is proof of mailing before the deadline.
The postal return receipt is acknowledgement of delivery.

Subject: [PaQSO] Logs received query

Hey all, I want some feedback.

few years back, I instituted the log's received pages. I also instituted email
eedback when a log was emailed in.
But it's a little confusing, because In the past there was no feedback at all
ntil the preliminary results were posted.
In way of explaining our process, the mailed logs come in and first go to our
reasurer, who then sends them along to me. At that point, I go through them,
nd enter them onto the logs received web page. So, yes, it does take some time
o get them. This sort of takes as long as it takes, because frankly, i'm
ealing with a volunteer.
But the question becomes, is this actually doing a disservice? Should the logs
eceived pages be eliminated, and we go back to the old system (actually no
ystem) of people finding out after the entry deadline?
This year, someone sent in a log, and 2 minutes later sent me an email asking
hy his log wasn't posted as received on the web page, despite feedback that it
as received. It was sort of funny, but it got me to thinking.
Is the whole logs received process just stressing people out? This is around 60
ours of work, and if it is detrimental, it should go.
