Hello all
I just wanted to thank everyone for working the K3MJW bonus stations in all
forms. I hope we did a good job for everyone. I know we had a blast at the
Skyview clubhouse. We worked phone, CW, some RTTY and some PSK, I tried a
couple times on 6 at the top of the hour but didn’t hear anyone. We ran high
power, but two of the three stations were 100 watts most of the time.
I talked to the folks at the Uniontown club, W3PIE (K3MJW/FAY) and they had
a blast too. Rich, K3RWN did great from his house as K3MJW/ALL.
I don’t have a total QSO number from K3MJW/WES. I had to leave about two
hours early but I hear a number over 1400 Qs. We FINALLY made another clean
sweep. WAYne was the last to go at around 3:30 on Sunday. We haven’t hit the
clean sweep in years! Took being the bonus station I guess. hihi
Thanks to Bob, AG3U we were live via a web cam on the Internet from the
Skyview clubhouse! I wanted to post the link on this list but never got
there. Was busy pounding out those CW Qs! We will have pics on the Skyview
and Uniontown web sites soon.
At the clubhouse we did have our annual PA QSO apple pie bake-off. 3 pies
were presented. 3 pies gone. Yes, we gained some poundage… The apple pie
goes very well with the leaves turning on the tree. And after all, ham radio
is really all about the food.
I will post all the scores as we get them all together. Again, many thanks
to all and special thanks to the W3PIE Uniontown club for operating as
K3MJW/FAY. They did a great job from a really great club. A huge thanks you
to Mike and the Nittany ARC for giving us the pleasure and privilege of
being the bonus station this year. We had big fun.
Best 73 from Bob, WC3O
Looking forward to PA QSO 2011
