[PaQSO] Changes to PAQSO Party rules

I gotta jump in here...didn't want to, but after browsing through well over 50 emails form this reflector...I have to put out some opinions. Please keep in mind, I am blunt..so if I offend you, it is not personal, since I cannot even remember who has brought out what topics. Plain and simple, the PA Qso Party is a contest. does it have a history and tradition of being more friendly than others..yes, but it is listed in Contest Corral, it gives awards based upon scores earned, therefore it is a contest. 

ALL contests have rules...hell, SS is coming up in a few days..do I like the exchange? no    Do I like being able to work a station only once in 24 hours of operating time?? no   so guess what...if I wish to be competitive in this contest, I have to alter my operating strategy. Will I be using QRO Absolutely. Is it because my antennas are lesser? absolutely not. With what I have earned with these antennas as far as DXCC credits, WAS credits, less than 300 counties for USA-CA There is nothing wrong with these antennas..and I don't even have a Balun in line with my dipoles, and they are fed with RG8.

PQP has a set of rules, and a set of categories. It almost seems that some people want a different category for every station which enters..some want less categories. Before the contest next October..read the rules, choose a category which best suits your operation, and have at it. I know each year that there are a few stations and ops out there which outperform myself..gives me a goal each year to shoot for. Do I like being put in the same category as a SO2R station? nope..but I read the rules, and nothing governs SO2R. no rules are broken, it is operating strategy which wins there. I never liked being out pointed by a QRP station who made less than half the qso's and 10 less mults..but I read the rules before the contest, and understood that it can happen. The rules are very easy to understand. If people don't want the PQP to be a contest, Offer to take the role of coordinator, and change it. Else..let Mike and his crew do their magic.
