Fifteen minutes before the end of the contest I was calling CQ on 3828 begging for Cameron County. A gentleman broke in and told me there was a mobile station on 3811. I left a pileup and dialed downward. Instantly there he was. With one call with a pleading voice, I was heard through the pile-up. The mobile station heard the desperation in my voice.

I have a very busy week. I was begging on 20 meters for contacts and offered to repair a bunch of leaky toilets. Just my luck the first repair is Tuesday morning in California. But he did tell me the coffee pot is on
