[PaQSO] VE section list

According to the Canada Post site at http://www.canadapost.ca, the official
abbreviation for Quebec is QC. PQ may still work as an alternative but is
officially considered an obsolete postal code.
...hey, don't argue with me, it's their postal system!...
Now, regarding the sections: Remember that historically, the out of state
multipliers for the contest were the ARRL sections. Back in the days of the
Canadian Division (which became the CRRL and then merged with CARF to form
RAC way back when), VE1 VO1 & VO2 were the Maritime Section. It was one of
the few sections that included more than one state/province/political entity
(another was the old Caribbean section, which is now the separate PR & VI
sections). And remember that at that time, several provinces shared the VE1
prefix, VY2 & VE9 not yet having been assigned to them.
Technically, I think only the Pacific section (Hawaii, Guam, Saipan etc.) is
still like this, although as a practical matter, we probably only log KH6/7
stations for the section and the other KH entities (KH2, KH0, etc.) as DX.
Maybe we shouldn't, but that's another story.
So with that in mind, I must regrettably disagree with my fellow K3CR alum
that the MAR section was "silly."
However, with all due respect to history, perhaps the time has come to
re-address the Canadian multipliers. With two weeks (minus) to go, I
wouldn't change anything for the 2007 contest, but this may be something
that can be addressed for 2008. And if we can come to a friendly consensus,
that can give Mike & crew one less headache to deal with for next year. So
with that (2008) in mind, how would you handle the Canadian mults? Each
Canadian Province? VO1 & VO2 as one mult or two? One mult for the
Territories or three? And in the unlikely event one or both would be active
at the same time, would you count CY9 & CY0 as mults (I wouldn't) or DX (I
would)? Or -- just stick with the historical RAC (nee ARRL/CRRL) sections,
and clarify exactly what the sections are?

How about Canadian postal abbreviations?
The official two-letter [Canadian government] abbreviations for the
provinces and territories in Canada.
Alberta AB
British Columbia BC
Manitoba MB
New Brunswick NB
Newfoundland and Labrador NL
Northwest Territories NT
Nova Scotia NS
Nunavut NU
Ontario ON
Prince Edward Island PE
Quebec QC
Saskatchewan SK
Yukon YT
This breakdown avoids the of lumping NB, NS and PEI together as
Maritime (MAR). The MAR mult of three provinces is as silly as if we
lumped our six "First District" states into a single mult called NED
(New EnglanD).

What are the official VE section exchanges for the PA QSO Party? The
rules say
RAC sections. I found several references to RAC sections on the web and
they
vary in the number.
Could this list be added to the rules so the VE's know what to send for
an
exchange?
