Some of you helped me a couple of weeks ago by answering some questions I
had on the paperwork....namely what was the dupe sheet and how it was to be
filled out. :-) I had upgraded in July and was looking forward to doing the
Party this year for the first time. My station is rather rough and I have a
good 20m dipole up as well as an 80 as of a couple of weeks ago. The 40m
went up Saturday afternoon in the rain. :-) I did download the KA3JWE
program and liked it very much. However, I had a glitch loading it from one
computer into the other and had in the meantime gotten on the air. This was
my second serious mistake in that I couldn't go back and transfer the paper
log into the computer log because of the the automatic clock, hence I have
several pages of paper logs. :-) Other than that I did well with 151
contacts, 26 sections and 50 counties, basically on the air most of Saturday
and from 1400-1800EST. I did manage to snag VEN in the last few minutes,
but just after to my dismay I see it was on 7223, and my limit stops of
course at 7225. I got carried away in spinning that dial. Still, all in all,
it was a learning experience and I hope to be better prepared next year. The
40m works pretty well and I even picked up a few 15m, such as UT, PR and OR,
a nice surprise.
