I like the idea.
I have participated in a portable multi-multi (N3GWR/Pik) which has set up
"Field Day style" with wire antennas, and usually medium (100 W.) power.
Although we were competing against M/M home stations with better antennas, it
didn't really matter. We didn't go out to win the category. We were focused on
giving out a semi-rare county and having a "guys' weekend away." We never gave
any thought to running as a Rover 'cause we never intended to operate from
more than 1 county.
If there ever is a portable multi-multi category, fine. Until then we'll
live with the existing categories.
