Hey "Grump":
You are not exactly correct in your "per mode per band" comment. It is "per
mode per band PER COUNTY"....
AND, I have seen posts here from the W3UU club that the individual W3UU
fixed stations will all be operating from three SEPERATE counties, so all
current logging programs out there should handle appropriately. The entry
is CALL -- SERIAL -- COUNTY/SECTION....
W3UU/40/PHN/DAU and W3UU/40/PHN/YOR and W3UU/40/PHN/JUN are three valid and
separate contacts.....
They also said they were to have only ONE Mobile/Rover station running, and
if this is logged as "W3UU/P or W3UU/M" it is still a separate contact from
EACH county/mode/band...
So what is all this fuss about???
I have my own logging program at http://www.wb3w.net/wb3wlogs_PA.htm I
wrote for visually impaired Hams and I have checked it out and it will work
fine for the various W3UU combinations this year. I also checked out a lot
of the other popular logging programs I know about and they handle it fine
too.. So why are we ALL making such a big deal of this..
Come on -- give them credit for their creativity and giving us a bunch of
chances to get some additional multipliers.
I'll be running as a Portable/Rover and hitting a number of counties. So
what is the difference in logging a contact with me in different counties
than a contact with anyone of the fixed W3UU stations in different
counties?? Think about it ---- What's the difference????
Again -- give them a break for adding some creativity and additional
multipliers....
