Hi Tom,

Great hearing from you, both on the air and on the reflector.

The topic of increasing incentive for PA stations to work out of state
stations has taken on many, many different forms on this reflector Tom, and
it has created numerous suggestions.....some probably good....some probably
not so good....none of which have recently passed the litmus test.

Right or wrong, I believe the general opinion is that, what the CPQ has
works well for it, and what the PaQP has, likewise, works well for that
contest. Neither will be the "one size fits all", nor should they be
expected to. I know you're not suggesting that either....I just thought you
would be interested in knowing it is always evident.

I will say this, however, and I think I speak for the vast majority of the
PaQP ops.....you can't imagine how pleased we are having folks like you
participate in our fine contests. Without you all, both the CQP and the
PaQP would simply be ho hum outings of which I would probably not go
portable.

By the way, I worked the SFL section 5 times in the contest. Great
participation from you and your section. Thanks so much!!

Bob, N3FR

which makes a PA county worth as much to an in-state participant as a
section, even though, especially on the lower bands, it is much more
difficult to get. It also makes working the PAQP from out of state very
difficult on the low bands, there is no incentive for PA stations to listen
hard for the out of state stations. That was frustrating from SFL. I'm not
complaining--I had fun anyway.
