Speaking of 160--what has worked well for the portable ops on that band?  At 
N3GWR(/3 PIK) we've tried (low, i.e. 40') an inverted-V, 80 meter dipole fed 
with ladder line (both as short dipole and with feedline shorted, and an 
inverted-L.   NOTHING seems to work on 160.   RX signals are usually strong.
We do well on other bands.   Ideas?
