I am sorry guys I can not sit back and growl to myself any longer.
I am not a contest class CW operator but come from the ranks of
the old school. CW is becoming a dying breed and has been known
for many years. That is why they had to drop the numbers in
order to maintain a number of ham radio operators. The extra
points is an incentive to try cw
and increase your score. Contesting is what brought up my speed
so I could enjoy CW and become an Extra under the old
rules. It also gets you to work with antennas for 80 and 160m
which many people would not try due to lot restrictions or happy
neighbor situations (ie my
tribander - the "eyesore"). For years I was one who tried to
improve and put more CARBON Q's on the board, and did, working
around health problems that always seemed to come up that weekend.
My 100 watt signal will be heard again this year if health and my
heart hold out (not to mention the rig!!) And it won't be
anyones fault if they didn't get CARBON COUNTY. I will also add
CARC doesn't do so bad with the number of Extra and Advanced class
operators that have come up in the past 10 years under the
old rules from this little club. We got the operators !!! May
you all have the
greatest of PA Qso competitions. I am looking forward to it.

Good Day
