N3FR's posting said it all, as far as I'm concerned. I can't improve on
what he had to say. But, since I was working on this post when I saw his,
I'll send it anyway.

==========================================
This IS NOT a FLAME at anyone with a differing opinion.....

IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT

IF IT AIN'T BROKE TOO BAD, DON'T FIX IT

LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE

These sayings, or old saws.....adages.....whatever you want to call them,
are sort of like old wives tales. Generallly speaking, they just don't hold
water.

Not unlike "an eye for an eye" and "turn the other cheek".......very
confusing....what do I do???????

If we didn't fix things that weren't broke, we'd stil be using steam driven
cars and steam locomotives.......there'd be no processors in our
rigs....we'd be talking about extra points for "spark" instead of CW. Would
we be working AM instead of SSB? Or would there even be a voice mode? Would
there be repeaters on every hill top? Would there still be one telephone
compant....oops....never mind that one...getting a little too close to home
:-)

Nostalgia is a powerful thing, but the "good ol' days' weren't always that
good, as Billly Joel once said in song.

Things change...we move on. Today's generation, of which I am decidly not a
part, do things differently than us old fogies...like things we never
thought of.

I do accept one old adage....I'm not in favor change just for the sake of
change.

But change for the sake of trying to make things better, (i.e., trying to
improve participation in the Pa QSO Party) IS A GOOD THING

And TRYING is the operative word.

Hope all are enjoying the rain. (at least here in WPA...is it raining in
EPA?)

This comment simply amazes me. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Heck,
the Model "T" wasn't broke, but someone decided there was a better way to
make cars. What in the world is wrong with considering a tweak here and
there, especially if it will enhance the subject at hand, in this case our
favorite contest.

Simply my opinion folks.

Let's get this thing cranked up and have a bunch of fun!

Bob, N3FR (portable WAR)
