[PaQSO] QRP lament from the Midwest

In my experience, if I can hear 'em I can
work 'em...sort of.

I may call a station 10 or 12 times before I get a
response. In that time, the other station has worked
10 or twelve other qso's.

When the 100 watters are done, I'll get picked up
almost every time.

In practice, many of the 100 watters are giving the
other station 20 or 30 dB over S-9.

My signal is only 13-15 dB below that, and STILL above
S-9.

There are also many, many 'cherry-pickers' in the PA
QSO ranks who simply do NOT listen for any stations
under the s-9 level.

They are in the 'test to have fun,and have no
intention of trying to 'win'. The 100 watters and QRO
guys will work many of these stations, and the qrp
guys won't work a one.

Fact is, we probably have only half-as-manyy stations
to work as the 'big guns'!
