[PaQSO] QRP SHOULD HAVE ITS OWN CLASS IN ALL CONTESTS

I agree with Bill that QRP stations should have their own category.
The way that contests are scored today, with QRP stations getting a huge
scoring advantage (in Field Day...its a 5X power multiplier!), the scoring
formula favors QRP to an extreme level while not recognizing the efforts of
QRO Ops who have to copy often weak signals. In other words, the QRPers can
call a QRO station, ask for an receive several repeats for the QSO, and
receive a lot of points for that particular QSO while the QRO stations
receive the standard number of points for one QSO and whatever multiplier it
represents. Kinda lop-sided and not really very fair if you ask me.
No, QRP should compete only with QRP.
Short of that,,,then I would advocate a system whereby the QRO Ops would
receive the same scoring advantage for each contact they make with a QRP
station.
The way it is now.....only the transmitting side of QRP operation is rewarded
and recognized, but the equally deserving receiving operator trying to copy
an often weak QRP signal gets NADA. That is not cool.
My two cents worth!
73 to all and lool for me operating from SNJ as "N8LXR/2."
