[PaQSO] Ten Meter Frequencies

During the last sunspot cycle, the year I operated portable in Somerset
(1990) I worked a bunch of EU stations on 10 meters on Sunday late morning &
early afternoon... and I was running a TS-430S barefoot to a 150 foot
longwire made out of Radio Shack speaker cord. Of course, it didn't hurt
that there was also a UK or EU contest on at the same time; I just worked
'em, gave them my PaQP SN (had it do double duty -- beat keeping two logs &
two numbering systems), and moved onwards.

Let's hope the propagation is with us, and let's hope for another
complimentary contest situation!

When asked "If you had been in President Clinton's place, would you have
resigned?",
Republican Member of the House of Representatives Dick Armey replied:

"If I were in the President's place, I would not have gotten a chance to
resign. I would be laying in a pool of my own blood, hearing Mrs. Armey
standing over me saying, "How do I reload this damn thing?"

My comments on this 10 meter thread are:

SOME WHERE

ANYWHERE

I DON'T CARE WHERE

PLEASE, JUST GO THERE

And remember to peek in on 20 and 15 meters on your way up

I know.....I know.......many of you are saying I'm like an old broken
record (wax, or vynyl.......remember those things??) on this topic. But I
just can't resist the opportunity to make my annual appeal to increase the
activity "UP THERE". If we could get about 100 PA-er's calling CQ on 10
meters, all at the same time, I'm guessing 10 meters (or 15 or 20) might
just "open up" like a faucet.

In reality I realize I'm pretty much preaching to the choir here. Need to
get the word to the more casual participants within Pa. So spread the word.
If half the guys on this reflector would each get one participant to
follow the 10/15/20 suggested freq/time schedule, we should generate some
rasonable activity. Just take a listen the weekend before, to the activity
on 10/15/20 for the CQP. While the two contests are very different, we
should be able to generate 10 or 20 or 30% of that activity for our event.

Ok...(maybe) that's it for this year from me on this topic.

You've got my vote, but it's the decision of the NARC contest committee
which
really matters.
