John,
I use an older Radio Shack DJ headset mic at home mostly for contesting. Its
audio response is tailored for DJ's and the party scene but the audio reports I
get are good. People say it sounds very full. Its a Koss but I don't think
they carry it any more.
There is a review on one of those cheap no name computer headphone mics on
eham.net and the person gave it good marks.
I just got a Heil Traveler for my 706 and it worked well. I have to get used to
using only one ear but its light weight and comfortable. You can rotate the
boom around so either ear can be used.
