OK, I have to put in my 2 cents worth.

I've been married to the same XYL for 31 years.  Our
first date was to the campus club station!  We have 
always had a calendar.  If someone puts something on
the calendar it takes priority over something that comes
up later.  Something can only be removed from the
calendar if the person putting it on the calendar gives
his/her permission.  This has worked well for us all
this time.  My birthday is in November and she always
give me a calendar for the next year.  By the end of
November I have entered all the contests that I want
to participate in.

If you guys are letting your XYL's dictate what contests
you can operate in, you are WIMPS!  Put them  on the
calendar, highlight them with a marker and stand firm.
