[PaQSO] QRP & Pleasantries

Good post, Bob. My personal peeve is when I'm in S&P mode, and running
across stations with pileups going who do not sign their calls following
each QSO. Some of them will go 3, 4 or even 5 Q's before they either
finally sign, or someone outright asks them for their call. Many times
they'll wind up being a dupe, so I always make it a point to wait until
after I've checked them in my log. Needless to say it slows down my rate.
I'm not singling out the PAQP, as this occurs in every contest. I make it a
point to give my call phonetically after every QSO when I'm having a run.
QRZ? alone just isn't enough. That's the other point I wanted to make. . .
please folks, ID with phonetics. Too many letters sound alike, and increases
the chance of the station calling you being a dupe. Or maybe my hearing is
beginning to suffer from the same middle-aged malady that's been effecting
my eyesight <sigh>. Oh, BTW, I wasn't referring to your use of "QRZ?" in
the message you posted, personally. Seeing your message just reminded me of
the stations that do it without signing their calls.
