I find the please copy to be a good spacer helping to lead me into the exchange
(especially with VOX) and probably avoiding a repeat which takes even longer.  I
agree that repeating the other station's exchange back is not really necessary
when you've got him in the clear.  With so many people doing it to me, I found
myself doing it too much myself.  This is not air traffic control where a read
back is a good measure of safety.
