This may just be due to the fact that if "Nancy Three Fox Radio" and "Nancy
Fox Three Radio" are calling at the same time, they obliterate each other
until one stops and the other one still saying "Stoke QRP" gets his two
seconds in the clear.

I personally don't care to know if you are claiming QRP. If an award sponsor
won't take your word for it, why should I?

I wonder how much of this, especially repeating the other guy's information,
is a crutch for those who can't type fast, and are repeating the information
to keep it alive in volitile memory until their fingers catch up.

Au contraire, QRP guys will almost never run into a signal weaker than their
own. Most of a QRO (KW) guy's qsos are 10 db down to start with, and often
more due to QRP and/or inefficient antennas on the other end. For experience
in hearing weak signals, run QRO in a major DX contest (CQing), where the
noise and QRM floor is the limiting factor.
