Thanks Bob,
Since Bob and I know each other well, and consider Bob a class Ham, It's
great to be acknowledged for Going out there in the field (literally!)and
do what amounts to Field Day 8-12 times in a weekend. For me, this is a
major rush! We as hams like to say we are prepared for Emergency
situations, going Mobile, Rover, or Portable puts that to the test, and
what better way to do so than in an event like the Pa QSO party. I have
Friends forever due to this contest, and even though it would be much nicer
to work from home (Yea, right! with KB3B & K3LD at the controls at home!!),
there is something special, almost spiritual, working ham radio from some
of the most wonderful places in God's creation.
And yes, I can get parked, antenna in a tree, radio on the air in less than
5 minutes. It takes more time for the computer to boot up than it take to
get a station on the air and tear it down. Thank God for my new Jeep
Liberty, it transformed into a Ham station on wheels(yes I do have pictures!).
Thanks to all who made time for the contest, you certainly made my weekend
enjoyable.
Best 73, Chris KB3A/Rover
