A couple of years ago, when I operated portable in Forest on Saturday but
from home in Allegheny on Sunday, I was told to classify myself as a "Rover"
since that was the closest category to what I was doing.

I was also told privately (by somone NOT on the contest committee) that to
keep life simple, next time, I should use two different calls if available
to differentiate between the portable & home station -- ie, borrow a club
call or something for the portable operation.

What a great contest......

I didn't get on as much as I wanted to with my son not feeling good, and
actually ended up taking a nap with him on Saturday so that I could stay up
a little later that night. Paid for it the next morning.....

65 of 67 Counties
24 of 85 Sections
357 QSO points
89 Multipliers
1000 Bonus Points.
A grand total of ....... 32,773

I absolutly love this contest. I was really amazed at the number of people
that were on a freq calling cq or qrz that would allow you to hop in and
make a contact with another station!!!!

I believe I can speak for anyone in Tioga County that we had a lot of fun!!!
Moke, NM3O lives one mile up the road from me and the NR3K group was about
5 miles fom my home QTH and we would take short breaks and chat on 146.550.
I also heard Larry WA3CSP in there mobile in Tioga and heard Elwood KA3MMM
hop in there around the last hour and gave me a CW contact for Tioga.

I definatly missed WY3T Joe over in Potter County. I actually thought about
going over to Potter County and operating from there on Sunday, but I wasn't
sure how I would have put that on the score sheet. I am not sure if I could
have done that or not. What does the rules say about me operating from home
on Saturday and Mobiling or Rovering on Sunday???

I really didn't get digging into it until around 4:00 pm or so on Sunday,
but what a blast. I wasn't sure if anyone was going to do any CW in Tioga,
so I went down to the 80 and 40 meter CW portions and gave some cantact.

A very close friend and fellow ham, N3KCM, that worksd for the State Parks,
mentioned that LyMan Run in Potter county has electric sites at the
campground. Maybe I will get a chance to take the new camper there next
year. I am going to check and see when the camping season closes They also
have another camp ground up on top of a hill(Cherry Springs), but not sure
if there is electric there or not.

Thanks for a great contest!!!
