I certainly agree with your concept, Gene. Not much lower form of
life than a cheater. The biggest thing they cheat is themselves.
But how do you propose to make Radiosport cheatproof? I mean really
cheatproof. Logs are one thing, Power level is another. Location is yet
another. Is everyone who says they are at a county line really there?
How about that rare county?
I'm not trying to belittle your concern. I just don't know any
practical way of insuring peoples honesty.
Cheaters do have a way of getting caught eventually. I'm a firm
believer in Karma.
The only way I have found to deal with the problem of cheating is to
assume (within reason) that the person is being truthful, until I know
they have lied (cheated) to me. After that, I KNOW that EVERYTHING they
do is either cheating or lying. Quite digital, I assure you, and it
works pretty well for me.
So I'm happy to go through life believing the best in people, unless
they prove otherwise. And the most amazing thing is that by and large,
people live up to my expectation.
