[PaQSO] Rover Results???

About a week ago I sent an email to Chuck K3CM, who will be the chairman of
the QSO Party this year, in regards to a different query about a question
with the official results, to see if he had anything in hand from the 01
Party that could help clear up some of the concerns that have been raised.

Chuck informed me that there was apparantly a major computer crash that
affected last year's results. That may explain why so much was missing from
the "official" results and why there have been some reported discrepancies
in expected awards.

I also had the impression that there is little if anything that Chuck can do
about last year's results, so all I can suggest is that concerns continue to
be directed to the Nittany ARC. I don't think it does much good here on the
reflector as those who were in charge of the contest last year don't appear
to belong to the reflector and thus never see anything. (Don't look at me,
I haven't been a NARC member since moving from the State College area 20
years ago!)

Inicidently, I knew Chuck very well way back when (I was responsible for
arm-twisting him into becoming the trustee of K3CR after K3CA passed away,
when K3RXK [who was supposed to become the club advisor and
trustee] disappeared from Penn State between terms without any notice to the
club. Trust me, the Party is in good hands with Chuck -- only the return of
W3HDH himself would be better (we miss you Doug!), and that only because of
Doug's long experience running the show.

After reviewing all the amended results for the many times offered, where
are the Rover Results? Guess doing field day 8 to 10 times in a weekend and
giving rare counties doesn't account for much in the Rover class.
