Hi Bob,
Here's 2 cents worth from a fellow buckeye.
I just came through FOR this morning.
On Rte 62 North of Tionesta, I passed a LOT of private hunting camps, and
campgrounds. If you check Woodals, or call the Tionesta Chamber of Commerce
(or whatever they call themselves), they might be able to put you in contact
with somebody who can give you rental info.
That's how I found the number for the Camp in INN, which WI8T & I used for
several years (Have fun this year, Ray). Overall, I've found most folks from
Pa to be extremely friendly, and willing to go out of their way to help.
Also, re: Cook Forest, I have found cabins on the FOR side. If you'd like
specifics, e-mail me, and I'll be happy to oblige.
Also, there is a campground in Cooksburg, that may be close enough to the
FOR line that you could run an antenna over the line. Abnother Cooksburg
possibility is a private campground on Rte 36. The JEF/CLA line runs right
through it.
I haven't yet decided on a spot, but I'm planning to operate as a single op
this time around, as Allen, WI8T, has other plans.
Good luck, es 73
John, KD8MQ
