Batteries do depend on the size and how many amps it can provide for each
hour of use. the recommendation to use a different battery for the radios
is a good idea. but it really figure out how long your battery is going
to last you need to find the amp hour rating, this is the rating that the
battery will output X number of amps in one hour. if the battery says 2Ah
that means the battery will supply 2 amp for one full hour or so, or will
supply 1 amp for 2 hours! so what you need to know is how many amps does
your engine need to turn over and how many amp hours your battery is and
how many amps you are drawing from the battery. once you know these
things, you can figure out how long you can run your radio without
recharging. for example if the engine needs 10 amps to turn over, and i
have 20 ah battery and your radio needs 10 amps to run, then you can run
your radio for one hour and still start your car.
