[Pactor] Anyone Still Around

I have pretty much given up on Pactor. As you note PACTOR II & III are
proprietary and so modems supporting them are absurdely expensive given
the technology. I have used PACTOR I with some success but my interest
is e-mail from my boat and I can'yt justify the modem cost considering
the royalty expense paid to the license holder. MARS got a free ride
but the down stream users did not.. FYI, PACTOR was developed within
and with the help of the ham community. Once developed by us, the
progenitors took it commercial and soaked all of us to use it!!
Too Bad!!
