[Pactor] Anyone Still Around

Hi Craig,

Don't see a lot of traffic on this reflector, but there are still folks
which use it.

MARS uses pactor a lot. There's movement afoot to migrate to the enhanced
pactor II and III modes but I'm cheap, so I haven't made the leap. I don't
like the cost associated with them, and the fact that the latter are
proprietary.

I was looking at some info online that shows pactor continues to be used to
forward NTS traffic as well. I'm getting the itch to go that way myself,
that is, convert my pactor BBS on MARS frequencies back to amateur radio, or
at least do it part time. Seems more traffic is passed via ham radio
anyway.

Greetings to those on the list..

This is Craig, N4CQR. Anyone still using Pactor?. I have been absent for
several years and just returned.
I can remember many a x-TOR QSO. Has the mode fallen victim to other modes
and/or activities?.
I realize Pactor and Amtor (G-TOR too) are fairly wide modes but they gave
me, and I hope others, a lot
of pleasure. I have called CQ several times over the past several days with
not a single reply. I hope people
have not given up on this, as well as other "older" modes in lieu of newer
modes.

Look forward to hearing any reply.
