All of the things I wrote about are in the packet header (a variation of
the TCP/IP X.25 protocol used in computer networks with more versatile
addressing). They are not the message which you see, but are part of
EVERY packet transmitted and receive.
There are two causes at least of the need to send only one frame at a
time. One is the short receive buffer in the Kenwood TNC, the other is
TNCs that don't have patience to wait until the sending station stops
transmitting before acknowledging the first packet. These parameters are
in the TNC set up that should be explained in your TNC manual. The
details of the protocol are available on the tapr web page as well as in
book form from ARRL.
