As been said, check TXDelay. It can be set too long. Parameters can be
scrambled by loss of the memory battery. Also check the transmit speed
selection. Its possible it could be set at 110 or 300 baud and that
would lengthen any transmission. If set for proper modulation at 1200
baud the radio tone should be more like noise with a bit of tone. 1300
and 2200 Hz tones. The radio speed can be set to 9600 baud, but neither
the radio nor the internal TNC will run that fast.
