Further to my thread on this in May, I think that I have found out what a=

the capital A's with a circumflex accent are. They indicate a letter spac=

I am setting it all up again and copied Shane's scrip from an e-mail. Th=

link speed of 9600 printed out in the terminal with a lot of those symbol=
s.=20
and was an "invalid parameter" until I got rid of them all. Similarly, t=
he=20
spaces between fields in axports were just multiple letter spaces, not ta=
bs,=20
although nothing showed in an editor.
