Greetings All,

Well,  after reading the latest DAISUM reports from WAMC, my hat goes off to
the Islamic terrorists - according to those reports, the Islamics have been
able to cause more devastation in less time than the combined nations of
Germany, Japan, and Italy caused during the long years of the Second World
War. Amazing!

It might also be noted that the Islamics have shamed the French Underground
who had the support of the Allied nations in combating an occupying army.
Another amazement.

Are all these Grecian Firebolt EEI reports necessary?  Obviously, those
sending the reports KNOW HOW to compile an EEI report, so where's the
training value?  If Army MARS wants to know how many stations would
participate in the emergency communications exercise, would not callsigns
and zip codes do as well?  They do for FEMA. Are all these fictitious
scenarios, which when considered together represent an impossible emergency
scenario, really necessary?  Frankly, such fictions, in my humble opinion,
just make the whole exercise take on a comic book nature.  Am I missing
something here?

I am also curious about all those "VIP's" and "key government agencies" who
are monitoring this exercise.  We hear those phrases with every major
exercise, but they are never identified. I have to ask myself why this is
so - are these "officials" just shy, or are they so embedded into secret
services that we are not allowed to know who these people are and what
agencies they represent.  I cannot help but think someone is not being
exactly up-front with all of these "monitoring" reports.  Is this some
"color" to give more importance and credence to what amounts to "just
another exercise", or do they really exist? Curious.

Can anyone (does anyone) wish to clarify these questions?  I would
appreciate it very much.  In light of the furtherance of Oregon Army MARS
and the maintaining of a serious and professional emergency communications
service in our state if for no other reason.  I will not bring up the use of
government resources to perpetrate such a large scale fiction...that will
come later.
