Greetings All,
Sometimes the mind does not do what the situation calls for and this is one
of those times. It dawned on me that those stations who have checked into
the 10AM & the 5 PM nets would find it more convenient to be able to then
access the Oregon Gateway without having to wait an hour to do so. They are
at their radios and a mere frequency change would allow access without
waiting an hour for the Gateway to open.
Therefore, we will have the Gateway open from 11 AM & 6PM (immediately
following the 10 AM & 5 PM nets, allowing for time to change frequency)
thereby giving all members 10.5 hours of access to the Gateway daily. The
complete schedule follows:
7 Days 1100 hours to 1630 hours PDT on 4932.20 mhz LSB - dial
7 Days 1800 hours to 2330 hours PDT on 4932.20 mhz LSB - dial
The above changes go into effect Saturday, January 7th at 1800 hours. This
should make accessing the Gateway a bit more convenient for the AM and PM
net checkins. I apologize for not seeing this sooner - a very long Senior
Moment!
Hope everyone got the Training Officer's email on our new ANCS assignment
program. AAM0TOR has given serious thought and time-consuming consideration
of this new program and it will be a major improvement for our nets, while
giving our members important experience which will ease them into future NCS
duties in case of emergencies. We will now have an observer for compliance
to protocols and procedures, a backup up-to-date roster, and a station
assigned to backup opening the nets if the assigned NCS is not available to
do so. This should smooth our operations considerably, and afford our
members solid experience in net operations. Kudos to AAM0TOR, AAR0JY for
their foresight and dedication to this new project. If you have the time,
please notify AAM0TOR of your availability (no problem if you miss a few
nets) so he may assign a net position to you. Remember, the ANCS will be
gaining experience and is not expected to be knowledgeable in the job - no
one is counting any of our mistakes!
Glad to hear the SMD is on the mend and join in with all the other members
in extending prayers and best wishes.
