To all Oregon/Idaho members:
I have just started reading the new btc. It appears to have been totally
revised and upgraded to current operating procedures, so I will mention a
few points here that we may have done incorrectly.
1-When passing training or other message traffic if you require each station
on net to acknowledge receipt -Each station in the net roster must indicate
their readiness to copy in order of net roster checkin.
After the sending station completes traffic and says the proword OVER each
station again in NET ROSTER ORDER, acknowledges receipt or requests fills as
needed
2-You may send training message traffic without requiring formal receipt. If
so, the sending station is to use the proword "Do Not Answer". Once
completed sending the sending station may ask if any station needs
fills.(page 39 btc)
It is also indicated that each station should copy the net checkins, as
checkins come in, so that you know your position in the roster for the
proposes of acknowledging message traffic.
3- You may request early close time at checkin.(btc page 22)
This does not eliminate the requirement fro the NCS to keep roster integrity
by following order of checkins for comments.
3a- Leaving a net: If you must leave a net for any reason, you must request
permission from the NCS (btc page 43)
4-Comments may only be asked for once all traffic relay, official MARS
business and training has been completed.(The implication is that if you are
leaving the net early and traffic or training has not yet been completed ,
the net will not get a chance to hear your comments.)
The net should be declared informal during this period(btc page 43)
FYI- MARS message traffic may be originated, passed and routed entirely by
email.

Please be sure to obtain your copy of the BTC. It is important every is
familiar with it.
