There are many many other ways to learn CW. I took the CW Academy basic class which is a super fast paced 8 week course that is only taught 3 or 4 times a year, but you learn about 44 characters (enough to get you on the air)

Now I'm a member of the Long Island CW Club (LICW) which is a much slower pace and you can start at anytime. (I like this much better and it's a boat load of fun)
