Hopefully I'm not violating any protocol with this post. It is cold out
here so flames would be somewhat useful anyway. ;) ;)
I am a newby to Type "N" coaxial connectors as regards installation of same.
Used plenty on test gear but never installed any. Now whether or not it is
a good idea, cost effective, smart, or beneficial I will be installing a
bunch of Andrew Heliax (LD4F-50A) runs and using type N connectors. I was
given a bag of NOS Andrew F4PNM (Male type N connectors) which my research
finds to be intended for use on Andrew 1/2 inch Super Flex Heliax. The
Heliax I have (nice hamfest price) is Andrew LDF4-50A, not superflex but has
min radius of curvature recommended of 5 inches.
The question is: can I use the Andrew F4PNM connectors on the Andrew
LDF4-50A Heliax? If it works electrically but the only shortcoming was
weather sealing then proper installation of coax-seal and/or silicone tape
would "save the day" and I'd be "in business." I called the number on the
connector boxes but only got a useless menu tree with no selection related
to connectors or cables. Tried oodles of Googles and got nowhere.

Patrick NJ5G
