[OMIK] Health and Welfare from Pat Nesbitt to the OMIK familyy

Dear OMIK family, I just received this from Pat Nesbitt and she wanted to share it with all of you.

I want to sincerely thank the OMIK family (this   organization is truly a family) for the cards, gifts and condolences sent to my family after Ritner's passing. I received so many calls from OMIK members and I truly, truly, appreciate the high esteem given to my husband.
 
I would like to express a special thank you and much love to Geno (N4GNO) who honored my husband and my family by playing taps at the grave site. His kindness will never be forgotten.
 
Ritner loved his radios. I would always say that his radios were his first love and I was his second and that was just fine by me. His hobby gave me the opportunity to meet and befriend some of you that will be with me until the day that I go to meet with him and I thank you for that.  Ritner's wish was that the OMIK organization would expand and grow, drawing in some of the younger generation. I know that with the age of technology that we live in, kids are more interested in cell phones, ipods, ipads and computers, but what they don't know is that if  all of the cell towers fail they won't be able to communicate with anyone. If they were HAMS, they would be able to communicate with the world.
