Like you, I can tell he's there sometimes.  His signal is in and out, up 
and down.  I would not call him because I would not be confident I would 
hear him come back to me.

It's the old waiting game, really.  Each time he's been of 40 when I 
would be able to hear him, I have been otherwise engaged or asleep.

Looking forward to locking in on 20 meters CW.  That will make a 
spectacular recording.

Of course, ("he said selfishly"), I don't hit "record" until I have 
worked him myself.  Too many things to think about.
